Some Treadmill Manufactures and aftermarket Belt Suppliers label their products with Sales Specific “Pre-Lubed”, “Wax-less” or “Maintenance Free” Treadmill Belts. This is basically where an application of certain Wax or Silicone Oil Lubricant etc has been pre-applied onto the surface of the Treadmill Deck or underside of the Treadmill Belt during manufacture. However, this application of lubricant won’t last long!

Depending on the hourly usage the Treadmill tolerates, this pre-lubricant can degrade and wear prematurely contributing to additional friction between the underside of the Treadmill Belt and surface of the Treadmill Deck. Assuming or believing that the Belt requires no maintenance will only lead to intermittent breakdowns and eventually early failure of the associated parts.
When the Belt and Deck Lubrication begins to degrade there will no longer be any protection to counteract the friction being produced from under the belt. Apart from wearing away the laminated Deck surface, it will also cause an increase in “amp draw” which will often result in unnecessary Motor failure as well as Motor Control Board damage. Your Treadmill can be a substantial investment in your health and well-being so looking after it with the correct Maintenance Procedures will be the best effort you can make to ensure it keeps running problem free.
Some Treadmills use Wet Lubrication like Pure Oil or Emulsions while others in the industry use Dry Waxes and Wax Powders or Granules. It’s the type of Belt and Deck combination fitted to the treadmill that determines the type of Lubrication used. For your peace of mind we stock the Full Range of all Treadmill Lubricants.
